Seymour Barab's children's opera Snow White and Seven Dwarf was an original commission by Cimarron Opera in 1988. Our founder, Mr. Thomas Carey, was looking for a one-act opera that incorporates children in the performance. This revival production will feature an all-student cast ranging from ages 7 to 17.

About the show
The familiar events of the story as written by the Brothers Grimm are portrayed, plus a happy ending in which the Queen gets her comeuppance.
The wicked queen, jealous of Snow White's beauty, orders the murder of her innocent stepdaughter, but later discovers that Snow White is still alive and hiding in a cottage with seven friendly little miners. Disguising herself as a hag, the queen brings a poisoned apple to Snow White, who falls into a death-like sleep that can be broken only by a kiss from the prince.
This 50-minute production by Seymour Barab is a fun story that uses the traditional fairy tale with original music and lyrics. There will be a short pre-show segment beginning at 7pm featuring the youth and children of our cast.
Tickets are $5 each.
This production is made possible with the generous support of the Oklahoma Arts Council, Norman Arts Council, Allied Arts, St. Thomas More University Parish & First Presbyterian Church of Norman.
