Carrie Helm (Director)

Carrie Helm is a gradute of the University of Central Oklahoma with a BA in Education. She worked as a Speech, Debate, and Theatre teacher in the public schools for 7 years and is currently spending her time raising her two children, directing, performing, and volunteering her time to other projects she is passionate about. Carrie is currently Youth Ministry Director at Piedmont United Methodist Church and recently opened PUMC Fine Arts Studio where she teaches private lessons and classes. As director, performer, stage manager and teacher, she has been involved with Cimarron Opera Company, Poteet Theatre, Jewel Box Theatre, Bethany Stage and school theatre departments. Carrie is passionate about theatre because she has seen first-hand how the art of storytelling changes lives.

Catherine Etter

Catherine is thrilled to participate for the second time in Cimarron’s Scholastic Opera Tour!  An Austin, Texas native, Catherine teaches dance technique, musical theatre classes, and is currently directing a production with 1st and 2nd graders at Sooner Theatre in Norman.  Favorite roles include Cousin Hebe in HMS Pinafore, Princess Lulu in The Princess and the Pea, Gretel in Hansel & Gretel, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Dance Captain in The Gondoliers, a Gypsy in Verdi’s La Traviata. Jo in Little Women, Sister Sophia in The Sound of Music, Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, and Ensemble in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.  Catherine holds a Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance from Southern Nazarene University, and was seen in Tulsa Opera’s 2016-2017 season in The Pearlfishers and Tosca.

She will be playing the character of Francine.


Kristin Fitzgerald

Kristin Fitzgerald is an Oklahoma City native and holds a degree in vocal music from Oklahoma City University. She is honored to have been a part of Cimarron Opera Company since 2010.  Since that time, she has enjoyed being a part of six different Scholastic Tour productions including this year’s new offering: The New Kid.  She has also had the pleasure of performing in the Salon Series performances of Tell me a Story and La Pizza con Funghi. Outside of Cimarron Opera Company, she has performed regularly in the OKC area with roles such as Maria (Sound of Music), Julie Jordon (Carousel), Meg March (Little Women) and Sarah Brown (Guys and Dolls).  When she’s not working in the theatre, she spends her time as a bone fide soccer mom, wife and pet wrangler.

She will be playing the character of Francine.


Ryan Gonzales

Ryan Gonzales is an active singer, accompanist, teacher, and composer in central Oklahoma. After spending five years at Oklahoma Christian University studying vocal performance, he taught private piano and voice lessons in Frisco, TX, directed several musicals, including Into the Woods, Jr. and High School Musical, Jr. Currently, he is the Putnam City West High School choir accompanist and has accompanied multiple productions with schools in the area.  Ryan has performed roles with Jewel Box, Town and Gown Theatre, Poteet Theatre, and Cimarron Opera. Favorite credits include “The Beast” in Beauty and the Beast, “Horton” in Seussical the Musical, “Georg Nowak” in She Loves Me, and “Tommy Keeler” in Annie Get Your Gun. He also orchestrates his own compositions; he has started work on his second symphony, and contributed over 45 minutes of music to an opera.

He will be playing the character of Paul and accompanist.

Matthew Graves

Matthew Graves is the Choral director at Noble High School. He is happy to be back with Cimarron, having performed the role of Frederick in Pirates two summers ago. He has performed with numerous companies in the central and northern parts of Oklahoma.

He will be playing the character of Paul.


Laura Himes

LAURA HIMES is a graduate of University of Oklahoma with a BME in Vocal Music Education. She worked as a choir teacher in the public schools for five years until she decided it was time to follow a life long dream of opening a performing arts studio. As a performer and music director, she has worked at Lyric Theatre, Sooner Theatre, Poteet Theatre, Cimarron Opera, and Spotlight Acting Academy through Dance Unlimited. She has played the piano for 20+ years and has accompanied choirs, private voice students, ensembles, and musicals.  Laura is a co-founder of Kismet Arts Studio ( and OKC onstage ( 

She will be playing the character of Belinda.

Shannon Kaye

Shannon Kaye is a first place winner in the NATS Competition, placed in the Denver Lyric Opera Guild and has performed with the Santa Fe Symphony, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Opera Festival di Roma, CU Opera, University of Oklahoma Opera and the Opera Theatre of the Rockies.  She received her Master of Music degree at OU and she is thrilled to perform with Cimarron Opera for a second year. 

She will be playing the character of Francine.

Grace Otto

Grace Otto has been working with Cimarron Opera for ten years. She attended Cimarron Opera Camp where she fell in love with performing and the company itself. Grace is currently a senior at the University of Central Oklahoma where she studies Political Science. She has been part of the Scholastic Opera Tour for four years and has been seen as Sassy Duck (The Ugly Duckling), The Owl/Greedy Guy (The Owl, The Tree, & Me), Princess Lulu (The Princess and the Pea). 

She will be playing the character of Belinda.

Natasha Naik

Natasha Naik is from Edmond, Oklahoma. She is a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma studying vocal performance. Natasha first performed with Cimarron Opera in their summer opera theater camp where she performed the roles of Dame Hannah(Ruddigore), Don Alhambra( The Gondoliers), The Pirate King(The Pirates of Penzance), and Lady Jane(Patience). Most Recently she was in the ensemble of Cimarron’s summer operetta H.M.S Pinafore. 

She will be playing the character of Belinda.

George Soter

George soter is a sophomore vocal performance major at the University of Oklahoma studying under Dr. Joel Burcham. This is the second scholastic tour george has performed in and he is so happy to get to help bring arts to kids across Oklahoma! 

He will be playing the character of Paul.
